Viewing William T. Coe (1870-1950).

William T. Coe (1870-1950).

William Tatnal Coe graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1894 and the University Law School in 1896. He practiced law in Minneapolis from his admission to the bar in 1896 to his retirement in 1949. He served one term in the Minnesota Legislature and several months as an officer in the 15th Minnesota Volunteer Infantry during the Spanish American War. He died on January 29, 1950, a few weeks shy of his 80th year. In memorial services by the Hennepin County Bar Association in June of that year, a colleague recalled him:

He had an active and busy career and was attorney in many important cases. In many cases where he felt that the cause was just he carried the matter through regardless of wheather he would receive a monetary reward.

His "Autobiography" written in 1944 for the 50th reunion of the Class of 1894 is posted in the Appendix.
