Snow describes early court proceedings in Winona, then part of Fillmore County, in the territorial period, profiles many territorial lawyers, provides brief accounts of the formation and membership of the Winona County Bar Association and the Winona Bar Association, and concludes by listing all lawyers who were admitted to the District Court in Winona County from 1859 to 1895.
