Viewing Robert R. Hedenberg (1854-1917).
In 1867 Robert Reinhart Hedenberg arrived in Minnesota with his family of ten. Within a few months eight had died. Several years later his mother died, leaving him alone in the new world. He persevered. He was admitted to the bar in 1879 and moved to St. Vincent in Kittson County. That year he was elected county attorney. For the next 33 years he was an elected official of Kittson County, serving one term as probate judge and the rest as county attorney. He later moved to Hallock, the county seat, where he died on May 25, 1917, at age 62. In his obituary the Hallock Weekly News lauded his contributions to the county:
