Viewing Professor Henry J. Fletcher (1859-1938).

Professor Henry J. Fletcher (1859-1938).

Henry J. Fletcher taught "nearly very course in the curriculum" at the University of Minnesota Law School from 1895 to his retirement in 1929. He was the first editor-in-chief of the Law Review and toiled long and hard to achieve its high reputation here and abroad.

Professor Fletcher died on November 8, 1938, at age 79. At memorial services for the Hennepin County Bar Association on February 11, 1939, a former colleague William L. Prosser observed:

"Few men have had such an influence for good upon the spirit and character of the members of our profession in Minnesota."
