Viewing George A. Palmer, "The Frontier Lawyer in Minnesota After the Civil War" Part One (1931).
In 1931 George A. Palmer wrote a paper on the frontier lawyer in postbellum Minnesota for a "seminar in the social and economic history of the northwest, 1865-1880" taught by Solon J. Buck, a professor in the history department at the University of Minnesota. Palmer's paper was subsequently donated to the Minnesota Historical Society where Buck had been superintendent. It is posted here in two parts. Part One follows.
