Viewing "Leaves of A Life, Being The Reminiscences of Montagu Williams, Q.C." Volume 2 (1890).
In the second volume of his memoirs Montagu Williams continues his memorable descriptions of his cases, clients, judges and trials. In 1886 he became ill and required surgery of his larynx. It was successful (after "a considerable period" the doctors asked him to try speaking. He replied, "Gentlemen of the jury"). He retired from the bar and turned his energies to writing his "Leaves of A Life."
