Viewing Clyde F. Bort (1879-1935).Clyde F. Bort (1879-1935).After graduating high school in Cannon Falls, Clyde Bort worked as a salesman for twenty years. But he harbored an ambition to become a lawyer. In his late 30s, he attended night law school, graduated in 1920, and began practicing his new profession. But not for long. He died on May 23, 1935, at age fifty-six. In a memorial to him in district court on behalf of the Hennepin Bar Association on February 8, 1936, Earl J. Maxwell recalled, "He came into the world, filled his niche in life and left a splendid heritage to those who come after him, of a life well spent, a record unblemished. The world was better that he had lived." |
