(1904)In 1897, the legislature created the Seventeenth Judicial District, which encompassed Faribault, Jackson and Martin Counties. John H. Quinn was the first judge of the district. Seven years later, on the evening of December 6, 1904, the Bar Association of the Seventeenth Judicial District was formed. Afterwards the twenty-four new members retired to the Bullard House in Fairmont for a ten course dinner. This report of that initial organizational meeting, written by the first secretary of the association, Benjamin G. Reynolds, appeared on the front page of the weekly "Faribault County Register" on December 15, 1904. |
