Viewing Azro A. Stone (1840-1906).
After serving three years in the Second Minnesota Regiment, Asa Stone, as he was familiarly called, returned to St. Peter, was elected sheriff, and later appointed clerk of the district court. Meanwhile he studied law, and was admitted to the bar in 1874. He formed a partnership with Sumner Ladd that lasted until 1882. He served many terms as Nicollet County attorney, and held that post when he died on June 9, 1906, at age sixty-six.
