Viewing Alexander G. McKnight (1878-1950).

Alexander G. McKnight (1878-1950).

Alexander Galt McKnight served as the Bankruptcy Referee in the Fifth Division of the District of Minnesota from 1928 to July 1933, when he resigned. His chambers were in Duluth.

He practiced law in Duluth from 1905 to death in 1950, except a year in Washington, D. C. in 1934-1935, when he was director of litigation for the National Recovery Administration.

He was born in Corwar, Ayrshire, Scotland, about 30 miles from the birthplace of the poet Robert Burns, whom he idolized. He never forgot his Scottish roots and held offices in several Scottish organizations.
