Viewing John F. McGovern (1860-1905).John F. McGovern (1860-1905).John ("Mac") McGovern arrived in Wabasha in 1881 with a law degree from the law department of Iowa State. He was twenty-one years old. For almost the next quarter-century, he practiced law, published a local newspaper, befriended many, and ran for public office in Wabasha. He died on February 5, 1905, and three months later the Wabasha County Bar Association adopted resolutions in his memory. |
